Perinatal mental health continues to rise in Wales due to poor maternity services resulting in birth trauma. 1 in 5 mums experience perinatal mental health. Last year an inquiry was made into birth trauma on a national level. This needs to be actioned in Wales to improve maternity services so that mums do not continue to suffer traumatic births. Birth trauma can have a long term impact on both mother and baby.
