Rejected petition Reverse cuts to courses inc. Nursing, Music and Modern Foreign Languages at Cardiff University

Courses like Music, Nursing, and Modern Foreign Languages should be government-protected. With NHS staffing shortages at a crisis level, cutting university places would only worsen the situation. Losing the music department would leave Wales with just one academic music course—and none in South Wales—driving talent elsewhere in the UK. This would harm the economy, education, and healthcare sectors.

Why was this petition rejected?

There’s already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue, or if the Petitions Committee has considered one in the last year.
