Rejected petition Bring back the right to buy in Wales
The right to buy scheme in Wales was abolished in 2019. However, the scheme is still available in England and Northern Ireland, enabling tenants to buy their homes. Thus tenants can become homeowners and have more affordable housing options. Furthermore, preventing social exclusion for those who are unable to afford a large deposit. It has been successful in the past and continues to remain successful in other areas of the UK. So why not allow Welsh tenants the option to purchase their homes?
