Rejected petition Bring back free parking along Aberavon beachfront.

The decision to introduce paid parking along the beach front stands to impact locals and the wider community as a whole, making the beach less accessible and negatively impacting local businesses. Aberavon beachfront has always been a sanctuary for locals and tourists alike. The introduction of paid parking will significantly reduce the number of visitors, thus hurting the small businesses relying heavily on the footfall generated by the beach-goers, as well as increase tensions for residents

Moreover, according to a study by the American Planning Association, cities that implement free parking policies have seen a positive impact on local business patronage (Source: American Planning Association). While Aberavon may not be a city, adopting such an approach would sure better the livelihood of our businesses.

Also creating this on behalf of the residents down the beach front who will have an insufferable summer of fighting with visitors using their parking spaces outside their homes.
Wish to review the 2 hour stay time also as this is occurring regularly in social media discussions as an issue and blocker to using the beach and restaurants
