Rejected petition Legalise Wild Camping In Wales including Camper-vans and Motorhomes.

Legalise responsible wild camping within Wales and allow enthusiasts to enjoy all the country has to offer. Allow all who respect nature and the country to enjoy it under conditions similar to the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003. Implement a new access code for enthusiasts to adhere to and with such, a duty of care. The current laws penalise those who can’t afford to pay for campsites and this discourages outdoor activities and much needed spending in small businesses throughout our rural areas.

More details

Wild Camping in Wales is illegal and this puts enthusiasts in a position where they’re breaking the law by trying to enjoy nature and the beauty Wales has to offer. I want the government to change this law and not only get more people out into nature but also contribute to the growth of the economy by enhancing tourism in rural areas separate to campsites that hold a captive audience. More small businesses will prosper with this change.

Creating new rules with similar framework to the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 will encourage responsible camping, activities, education and preservation of our local wildlife & environment.
