St. Julians/ Beechwoof suffers from multiple serious RTCs. Recent police data shows alarming speeding levels, yet we lack traffic calming measures available elsewhere in Newport. This disparity creates dangerous conditions for residents, children, and elderly. Our community faces daily risks from high-speed traffic on residential streets. Evidence shows excessive speeding and serious incidents, while other Newport areas enjoy safer roads through proven interventions.

The St Julian's & Beechwood Community Action Group runs extensive Facebook and WhatsApp networks keeping residents informed. We've met with John Griffiths MS and scheduled meetings with Jessica Morden MP, Dimitri Batrouni (Council Leader), and Rhianon Howells (Cabinet Member). We have full support from councillors Mark Spencer, Matthew Pim, Deb Davies, and Headteacher Mr Mansfield. We're planning school speed awareness campaigns. Our evidence includes witness statements, business/childminder/utility worker impact statements, police testimonies, historical accident data, images of Newport traffic measures, and years of ignored resident complaints - all citing speed concerns.
