Petition Make it a condition of planning that all new build homes have greywater/rainwater systems installed.

With much of Wales regularly suffering from drought conditions it is time rainwater/greywater systems are installed into every new home. Expensive drinking water is being wasted, used to flush toilets and to water gardens.
Statistics show that this should reduce the usage of fresh water by up to 50%.
This would be a win win situation for home owners and the environment, as water bills should be reduced and taking supplies from reservoirs, boreholes and rivers will also be reduced.

More details

By collecting and storing rainwater, you reduce the need to rely on mains water and so helping to conserve precious treated drinking water.
Rainwater is naturally soft and free from chemicals, making it a better choice for watering plants.
Using rainwater for non-potable purposes like irrigation and flushing toilets can significantly reduce your water bills.
By reducing your reliance on mains water, you also reduce the energy needed to treat and distribute that water which helps reduce your carbon footprint.
