Rejected petition The First Minister to Resign effective immediately and her seat

The Peerage Act 1963 was updated in 1999 a year after the Senedd was created. It applies to English, Scottish and Welsh peers for connected purposes.

Baroness Margan of Ely did NOT and has NOT renounced her title according to wiki pages. She only has stopped working in the House of Lords. That is not enough for her to stand as a commoner and be elected by commoners.
She had to renounce her title permanently for life. Not just "not use it on social media"
She cannot lawfully be 1st Minister

More details

The case of Viscount Stansgate through 1960-1963 resulted in the creation of the Peerage Act 1963.

It was updated in 1999 one year after the the Senedd was formed. It applies to Welsh peers.

The wording and purpose is not only for "Parliamentary" elections. It is for "matters connected to peerage" which is all and any election in common vote of the people (which should include local councils as well)

There are some very concerning oversights recently. I just cannot believe that anyone would think this position is right or lawful. You cannot just "Stop working at the House of Lords" it is about the title itself.

Also the fact that the first minister has now been unlawfully in government for a number of years is besides the point. She cannot continue.

Peers oversee government. It is their job. They do not run the governments. Nor are they directed by electors or to be holding surgery with electors in any capacity. Because life peers relationship with the public is different.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about appointments or resignations.

We can't accept petitions about appointments or resignations through the Senedd’s petitions process. This includes calling for Ministers to be sacked, resign or for a vote of no confidence.

The resignation of a Member of the Senedd is a matter for that Member and neither the Senedd nor the Welsh Government has the power to require an elected Member to resign.

If you wish to make a complaint about a Member of the Senedd you can do so by contacting the Standards Commissioner. Further information can be found here: https://standardscommissionerwales.org/

You may also wish to refer to section 17C(3) of the Government of Wales Act 2006: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2006/32/section/17C

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards
