Rejected petition Make education bilingual for everyone

Wales is blessed with two wonderful languages. But while one thrives, the other struggles. Part of the problem is most of us never had the privilege of acquiring Welsh naturally as children. This is a missed opportunity, as 39% of teachers speak Welsh. It would therefore be entirely within reach to offer our children a bilingual education, albeit 1/3 Welsh and 2/3 English. We therefore call for the system to be reformed so all future generations of pupils receive a fully bilingual education.
