Petition Andropause is Real, Men Deserve Support Too. Don’t Leave Men Behind, Andropause Care for North Wales
There are no dedicated Andropause services in Wales.
Men experiencing symptoms are often misdiagnosed, dismissed, or given antidepressants instead of proper hormone checks.
Men in North Wales have the right to access proper support for Andropause, and yet currently there are no dedicated Andropause services anywhere in Wales.
We are calling for the immediate creation of a specialist Andropause Clinic at Ysbyty Gwynedd, which can act as a model for the rest of Wales.

Andropause symptoms are misdiagnosed or dismissed. Men are often prescribed antidepressants instead of having a full hormone blood check, and left without access to appropriate treatment and support.
Untreated Andropause can cause:
• Severe fatigue, low mood, anxiety and depression.
• Strain on relationships and family life.
• Men leaving employment due to declining health.
• Increased risk of suicide among men who feel they have nowhere to turn.
We are requesting:
• A specialist Andropause Clinic in Ysbyty Gwynedd, as the first of its kind in Wales.
• Proper training for GPs and health professionals to recognise and treat Andropause.
• Public education so that men’s hormone health is openly discussed, just like menopause.
• Investment from Welsh Government into dedicated men’s health services across Wales.
