Rejected petition Save Stepaside School

Stepaside school is a wonderful provision at the heart of its community. It provides a high standard of education to our children that helps them to thrive in every area. To lose it will be to the detriment of the community at the present time and for future generations.

More details

Stepaside is an excellent school and a vital part of our community. Closing it would be deeply detrimental to our children, who have already faced significant disruption due to Covid, cost of living crisis and reducing opportunities. They now need more teacher time and support—not less.

Stepaside is also an important local employer. It was the reason I moved to Kilgetty, after my child received inadequate support elsewhere in the county. Its closure would have real consequences for families who rely on the stability and quality of education it provides.

This could be an opportunity to create meaningful change that put our children at the core of creating a sustainable community and learning from so many school closures that have failed their communities as a result.

I urge you to consider the serious, wide-ranging consequences of this closure proposal and to support our community in protecting Stepaside School.
