Wales faces challenges in north–south and west–east travel. Journeys are often slow and indirect due to terrain.
Small electric aircraft designed for short-range, quiet operation may offer a future opportunity to address these challenges as a complement to rail and bus services. Such aircraft could operate short “hop” routes where surface transport is persistently constrained.

Passenger demand from these hubs could help support service viability, while public service conditions could ensure sufficient seat availability for Welsh residents and essential travel needs.
