Petition Change the Housing (Wales) Act 2014 - Stop housing offenders within established private areas.
This is an opportunity to change to the Housing (Wales) Act 2014. A lot of local councils are putting repeat offenders, dangerous offenders and sex offenders back into the local community in unsuitable areas.
While it is fair to ensure that the homeless are taken care of, more thought needs to be given to the risk and instability caused by renters and owners leaving properties due to the strain of being housed next to individuals that disturb the areas they're housed in.
Councils should avoid housing ex-offenders in residential communities that are deemed mostly owned or rented, and aim to provide housing in areas that aid in rehabilitation. We need to protect and safeguard our communities.
