Petition Pause and withdraw climate-based policies that damage nature, farms and daily life in Wales.
Climate-related policies in Wales increasingly affect farming, countryside, housing, transport and daily life.
The UK produces less than 1% of global CO₂ emissions, with local emissions far smaller still. Many residents question whether measures introduced in the name of “climate action” are proportionate, effective, or justified when they result in loss of farmland, trees, habitats, wildlife, higher living costs, travel restrictions and permanent changes to communities.
More details
Across Wales, climate-based policies are being used to justify
development on farmland, removal of trees and hedgerows, loss of countryside and habitats, and interventions affecting wildlife and animals.
At the same time, residents face rising costs, road and travel
restrictions, reduced mobility, and limits on ordinary daily activities, all presented as necessary for climate reasons.
Many people believe these policies are damaging the natural environment rather than protecting it. Wildlife, farmland and green spaces are being lost primarily through development and infrastructure, not climate change itself.
This petition calls on the Welsh Government to pause and withdraw climate-related policies and programmes where environmental harm, loss of farmland, damage to habitats, restrictions on daily life and rising costs clearly outweigh any proven environmental benefit.
Climate action must protect nature and people, not be used to justify policies that destroy the very environment they claim to save.
