Rejected petition Remove Dogs and Prevent Further Dog Ownership at Caravan adjacent to Trinant Village
Seven dogs attacked another small dog with its owners and small child
More details
The dogs have already attacked and injured another dog that was being walked by its owners alongside a child, creating a clear risk to public safety.
• Housing dogs in a caravan in this residential setting raises concerns about their welfare and the potential for further incidents that could harm people or other animals.
We request that:
1. Gwent Police investigate the reported dog attack and take appropriate enforcement action under relevant UK laws (including the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 and Animal Welfare Act 2006).
2. CCBC assess the suitability of the caravan location for keeping dogs and take steps to remove the animals if it is found to be unsafe or non-compliant with local regulations.
3. Measures be put in place to prevent the owner from keeping any further dogs in this or other unsuitable locations within the village that could pose a risk to the community.
