Rejected petition Investigate and reform Welsh mental health services

Many people across Wales report deeply concerning experiences with mental health services, including inadequate care, long waiting times, poor communication, and a lack of accountability. These are not isolated incidents but signs of systemic failure. Mental health services are meant to protect and support vulnerable people, yet too many feel ignored or let down when they need help most.

More details

We work closely with people who have shared first-hand experiences of Welsh mental health services. Many describe recurring problems such as long waiting times, understaffing, limited access to support, and inconsistent standards of care.
These issues have been raised repeatedly in reports and inspections, yet many individuals still feel abandoned by a system meant to protect them. Mental health should be treated with the same urgency as physical health.
We are calling for a full, independent investigation into Welsh mental health services, alongside meaningful reform. This must include improved funding, safer staffing levels, reduced waiting times, stronger oversight, and clear accountability to prevent further harm
