Petition Prevent the loss of Wales' only tertiary BSGE accredited centre for Endometriosis.

In Wales, there is only one specialist, tertiary BSGE accredited centre for complex, deep infiltrating cases of endometriosis.(1)

Cardiff and the Vale University Health Board have published their risk register, indicating that there is a risk of "potential loss of BSGE accreditation, resulting in major financial, clinical and reputational consequences for the organisation" by December 2026. It also states that there are "no finances available therefore no current resolution available".

More details

Endometriosis is a chronic condition affecting around 1 in 10 of women and those assigned female at birth. The condition often requires specialist surgical intervention, and many women spend years waiting for both a diagnosis and appropriate treatment. The loss of this accredited centre would be a catastrophic loss to women's healthcare in Wales. This petition calls for Senedd intervention in the risk facing the endometriosis centre in Cardiff and the Vale University Health Board.
