Rejected petition Introduce a holiday discount for school teaching staff who earn below £27,000 a year

Holidays during the summer holidays are near enough triple the price. This is why many parents take their children on holiday during term time whi h results in children missing school. Children of teaching staff miss out during the holidays and it is just so much more expensive to go away. School teaching staff and their families are penalised for working in education and miss out on opportunities that many get during term time.

More details

Reward teaching staff who do excellent jobs in education by getting holiday companies to keep their prices down for those who work full time in education. Holiday and rest time is good for mental health. Teaching staff deal with mentally challenging day to day work life and then get penalised in the summer holidays/half terms because they simply cant afford to go away as prices triple compared to term times. Why should they and their families miss out
