Petition NHS CYMRU PROTECTION BILL
We call on the Welsh Government and Senedd Cymru to introduce an NHS Cymru Protection Bill to safeguard and strengthen publicly funded healthcare in Wales.
The NHS is one of Wales’ most valued public services, providing healthcare based on need rather than ability to pay. We believe future generations should continue to benefit from a health service that is publicly funded, publicly accountable and accessible to everyone.

Many people are concerned about increasing pressures on NHS services, including workforce shortages, rising demand and the growing involvement of private providers in healthcare delivery. We believe action should be taken now to protect the founding principles of the NHS and help ensure its long-term sustainability.
An NHS Cymru Protection Bill could help safeguard core NHS services, promote transparency and accountability, and ensure that healthcare resources are used fairly for the benefit of all who need them.
We urge the Welsh Government to take steps to protect, strengthen and sustain NHS Wales for current and future generations.
