Petition Change the Welsh for Adults learning approach in order to hit the target of a million Welsh speakers
To achieve this goal, we are calling for a change in the way that we learn Welsh, by bringing Welsh learners and speakers together.

During Learn Welsh lessons, the tutors work hard to teach Welsh to adults. Too often, however, the nature of learning in the classroom is very different to how Welsh-speakers speak.
I would like to see a greater focus on bringing Welsh lessons and the Welsh community together, in formal lessons and informal sessions provided by the National Centre for Learning Welsh, and by supporting mentrau iaith and community organisations more widely.
In order to reach the target of a million Welsh speakers, the new Government must provide more support for a variety of approaches to learning the language in order for Welsh to flourish as a living language.
