Rejected petition Our road needs to be reassessed to reduce the speed of hgvs/all vehicles on a back road

For many years us residents have complained about the speed of traffic on a back road with 2 sharp bends and numerous concealed entrances, we have had our family pets sadly killed, family members injured by vehicles and our own vehicles damaged trying to get out of our own entrances, something needs to be done now before it's too late! Our children are fearing for their lives because the speed of them. The council seem to think it's ok for this to be a 60mph which is 100%not suitable.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the Senedd or Welsh Government is not responsible for.

Whilst the Welsh Government sets national default speed limits it is the responsibility of local authorities to determine the speed limit for each road other than runk roads.

Petitions to the Senedd cannot concern an issue that is the operational responsibility of a local authority and, therefore, we are not able to accept a petition on this issue.

You could consider contacting your local authority representatives about this matter.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards
