Rejected petition Adapt the Rover Way & Lamby Way 'CARDIFF COASTAL DEFENCE SCHEME' to include widening the road.

Rover Way and Lamby Way are very busy and very important traffic throughfares, used by lorries, commuters and buses. The roads desperately need widening, potentially adding a second lane in places where it is feasible.

The Coastal Defence plans do not appear to show anything being done to widen the road, in some cases the roads appear to be narrowing!

More details

We would like the plans to be altered to include provisions to widen the road, preferably adding additional lanes where possible.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the Senedd or Welsh Government is not responsible for.

Roads, other than trunk roads, are the responsibility of local authorities.

Petitions to the Senedd cannot concern an issue that is the operational responsibility of a local authority and, therefore, we are not able to accept a petition on this issue.

You could consider contacting Cardiff Council or your local representatives about this matter instead.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards
