Rejected petition Myth busting. Welsh Government to debate Education Our Say Our Way live on a digital platform.

After much research we have found our government connected to a global roll out of sex education. They are denying this. The only way to myth bust and for the public to get a true representation of is to get a live debate where all sides can present their evidence and arguments.

More details

This has to be done because the Welsh government went behind our backs on two occasions in the online poll. We voted in overwhelming numbers not to loose our parental opt out Welsh government went ahead and removed parental opt out anyway. Since the Education Our Say Our Way campaign Welsh government haven't been forthcoming with information, ministers have lied, constituents have those lies on record. It is only fair that the country gets to see what is going on. We are a devolved country with a devolved education system. The only way the Welsh government can bust theses myths is to face the campaign head on.

We are not willing to waste taxpayers as money on a myth busting campaign when this can be sorted in a 40 minute debate. We do not consent to the Welsh government launching a campaign. We want Welsh government to face the opposition.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the Senedd or Welsh Government to do. Petitions need to call on the Senedd or Government to take a specific action.

We are not clear how you would envisage a public debate taking place and what status this would have. Requests for meetings with Welsh Government Ministers or officials need to be made directly to the Welsh Government. If you're concerned about a particular policy or decision that is the responsibility of the Senedd or the Welsh Government, you could start a petition asking for that to be changed.

Another petition about the inclusion of RSE in the Curriculum for Wales has recently been referred to the Petitions Committee and will be considered shortly: https://petitions.senedd.wales/petitions/244187 We would not be able to accept another petition on a substantially similar issue whilst that petition is under consideration by the Committee.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards
