Rejected petition Re-Open Gyms, Pools and Leisure Centres for individual use from April 12th.
Close contact services and all non-essential shops are permitted to resume trade on April 12th. The decision to allow these services to re-open but not gyms, pools and leisure centres on the same date is politically motivated instead of being evidence based.
The Welsh Government has failed to present any clear evidence that continued closure of the above services is necessary to protect the public health or that they pose any different risk other than services open now or permitted to re-open
More details
Gyms, Pools and Leisure Centres significantly benefit mental and physical well-being. Three different studies, including one in south Wales, conclude gyms are safe and not places of increased transmission.
